They Live

In this review we're going to talk about a John Carpenter mover. Here's a hint, I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubble gum. Yes I'm talking about the John Carpenter flick staring Roddy Piper, They Live.

They Live is follows a drifter by the name of Nada, played by Roddy Piper, who is looking for work in an "Economically" Depressed America. Well he ends up finding some stylish Ray Ban sunglasses which wakes him up to the reality of the situation. You see, these sunglasses weren't just any kind of sunglasses. These sunglasses lets the wearer see through signals sent out by Aliens. Okay I may have lost you, so let me give you some back story.

Warning this part may contain spoilers. So Aliens have come to earth to take over the world's economy to make as much money as possible, and that's pretty much it. They see the Earth the same way we see third world countries, and make a profit on us. These aliens have setup a broadcast signal to keep the human race "asleep" from what is really happening. Basically the signal makes the aliens look like they are human, and it hides the subliminal messaging that is everywhere.

Now back to the sunglasses... so they would filter out this signal, and allow the wearer to see what these aliens actually looks like, and show the hidden subliminal message in adds, and on the news, and any other form of media.

Overall, They Live is a fun action, sci-fi flick, with great one liners. I have to give it a 3.5 out of 5. If you haven't seen They Live, go check it out.
